Feeling just “all right” isn’t all right!
Health and wellness is not just an absence of illness, it is the abundance of vitality, a profound sense of wellbeing. This is characterised by a consistent, clear and high level of energy, an emotional balance, a sharp mind, a desire to maintain physical fitness and a direct awareness of what suits your body, what enhances your health and what your needs are at any given moment in time. The state of health includes a resilience to infectious diseases and protection from the major diseases, consequently slowing down the aging process. At it’s most profound level, health is not merely the absence of pain or tension, but a joy in living, a real appreciation of what it is to live a life you dream of.
Your Health Balance
I would like you to imagine you were born with a health reserve – a certain amount of money in your health account. Depending on what you eat, drink, breathe and think, gradually your money will be lost from your health account. Once you go overdrawn your energy is low, you can’t get out of bed in the morning and you suffer from niggling health problems. As your overdraft grows you develop diseases and when you exceed your overdraft limit you die. Our western medical system does not kick in until you develop diseases. How can you can take responsiblity for your own health account?
How is your Health Account?
Superhealth - boundless energy, perspective on life, sharp mind, positive outlook, joie de vivre, physically fit, rearly/never ill, full life, toned body, contentment.
Vertically Ill – constant tiredness, drained, low concentration, mood swings, exhausted by exercise, unfit, run down and frequently ill, easily overwhelmed, flabby, dissatisfaction.
Horizontally Ill – chronic fatigue, exhausted, constant aches, depression, pessimism, unable to exercise, incapscitated by illness, life is hard work, lifes is against me, despair.
Take a look at the rows above. Where are you? A great number of people fall into the vertically ill account – lacking enthusiasm for life. How would it be to sit comfortably and consistently in the superhealth account – full of energy in both mind and body?
Now is the time to step up and take action – The Lifestyle Challenge (TLC) is the foundation that you need to move from vertically ill to superhealth.
Instead of measuring whether or not you have disease, why not measure how well you are functioning – are you firing on all cylinders? The objective is to improve your health status before chronic diease develops.
How can you take the steps to alter your Health Account?
Wishing you health, wealth and vitality.

Sean Rasmussen’s Secret Formula
For many of us, living a happy, healthy and truly authentic life is “it”. It is what we strive for. However, in today’s world, in an effort to maintain balance between all aspects of our lives we will often overextend and over committ ourselves. And unfortunately, our health is usually the first thing to go belly up. Which is like a downward spirial, for without your health ….!
The one thing we do not do, but should.
The thing is there are so many ways we could improve our health, and so many people ready to help. So why is our health continuing to decline. In most cases we have the knowledge, however, we do not take ACTION. We do not take that one step forward towards our goal. So I challenge you, right here right now, let’s start with the top 6 inches.
In the last six weeks I have had the great fortune to be introduced to a truly authentic inspiring gentleman, Sean Rasmussen. Sean lives in Western Australia with his family, where he made a decision that he no longer wanted to w0rk 10 hours a day as an electrician and spending time away from his young family. So Sean took ACTION, took a step towards his goals and learnt Internet Marketing from the grassroots. Now, not to impress you, but to impress upon you, in the last six years, Sean has earnt a staggering $7 million dollars from Internet Marketing. You have to admit, that is a pretty impressive reward for taking ACTION.
“By thought the thing you want is brought to you – by action you receive it”
So what is Sean Rasmussen’s Secret?
Sean advises the key is ”that you need to be comfortable with yourself and believe in your ability to achieve. Then you will get results – and you will get them fast! It’s not about The Law Of Attraction. It’s about you thinking successful thoughts – and doing so regularly! That will push you into action and towards a happier, more successful life” . Sean wholeheartedly believes this, putting these thoughts into his book The Secret Law of Attraction, which you can download for free. Sean has kindly shared his driving inspiration and how he continues on his journey.
Sean has even created his own vision movie that he watches every morning for inspiration :-
How would each of your days unravell if it was based on your true secret. What motivates and inspires you, your memories, passions, loves … go ahead and why not create your own. It only takes one small ACTION step.
To your top 6 inches.

Could you do this 7 day challenge?
Are you one that likes challenges? Or one that may not take on any challenges for the fear of failing?
If I am to be completly honest, I am in the second boat, it is the fear of failing that makes me run the other way. However, not this time. For I now know, there is no such thing as failure, there is only feedback. But I now, believe this to be true.
I woke one morning at 4am (my best brain time :-D ) and had this wonderful idea of only drinking water for 7 days. For some of you this thought would be, “sweet that is so easy”. And this is what I thought, initially, and then the other thoughts set in – its winter I like to drink my hot chocolate, I have a dinner party on Friday night I won’t be able to enjoy myself, I can’t have my coffee in the morning to get me going or the glass of wine at night to relax me. Hhhhmmm.
But why, would I want to do this? What was my motivation?
Personally, I was feeling slow, tired and lethargic. My hair was, to be honest just horrid and my face looked dry with increasing deepness to the wrinkles. Yep feeling and looking like absolute shit? Oh I could make up excuses for this, but whats the point, I am only making excuses to one person, me. So I wanted to do something just for me, to make me feel and look better.
The second point that struck me, was persistance or in my case lack of persistance. This is not a strong behabourial trait of mine , therefore seven days of only water was like a life sentence for me. So could I in fact, complete this challenge?
The start of the challenge.
At the beginning I did decide on 2 rules – 1) to drink only water, 2) for a hot drink I could have lemon and honey.
It would have been so easy to give up that first morning so that I could have had my 7am coffee (especially since I had been awake since 4am). By 10.30am, I thought I was crazy and deluded, and just so wanted to have a coffee. I had to do something, I was only hours into this challenge and had days to go. So I told everybody around me what I was doing. This was one of the best things I could have done – I had support. This was a lifesaver, they stopped asking me if I wanted tea, coffee, wine etc and encouraged me with my challenge. Even at the dinner party, it was sssooo easy to have water, as everyone knew what I was doing
.
The middle of the challenge.
I realised part way through, that my fluid intake was habitual - 7am coffee, 10am coffee, lunchtime coffee/water, dinnertime wine and just before bed a big fat creamy hot chocolate. So I only felt like these items at this time of the day, it was what my body had come to expect, I had grooved this pattern. And at times of increased stress, I would revert back to these offerings. Interesting.
Once I identified that these were now only behavourial traits it was easy to have a glass of water or a hot lemon and honey drink. I now looked forward to these beverages.
The end of the challenge.
Today is 8 days since I started the challenge. I feel fantastic, I feel energised, my hair looks shinier and my face – to me I don’t have the rings under my eyes and my wrinkles do not look so deep. My thoughts are clear and crisp. And my wee is clear! I still had water and hot lemon and honey all morning. I had my first mocha (purchased) just before lunch time – I did enjoy it, but I savoured and tasted every mouthful. I think this will be a once a week treat.
What about night time, with freedom now to consume what I like? To be honest I feel so fresh, hydrated and fantastic, I only want to continue feeding me great stuff – am I not my best investment?
We did have the Russell Birdman Movie Premier, and with such an auspicious occasion I had a glass of Pinot Gris and water. But once again, I really tasted the crispness of the wine and savoured each and every mouthful. It was a treat for a great occasion.
The learnings for me in the last 7 days have been phenomenal. What will be your learnings? Go ahead, challenge yourself. And when you do please leave comments below on your experience.

A Letter from Your Belly Fat
I found this great letter which I thought was absolutely brilliant.
A Letter from Your Belly Fat
By: Craig Ballantyne, CSCS, MS
Dear Friend,
This is a letter from your ol’ pal, belly fat. We had a great run this summer, didn’t we? Lots of good times, great food, and plain ol’ sitting around eating too much.
Well, I’m thinking about sticking around another year if you don’t mind. But you might need to get a bigger pair of pants, as I was thinking about expanding my place down here.
So do me a favor, avoid that interval training you were thinking of doing. The last time you did that stuff, I nearly had to look for a new place to live. I felt like the Wicked Witch of the West in the land of Oz. Did you hear me yelling, “Help me, I’m melting!”?
Instead, stick to that slow cardio stuff. Sure I get a little sweaty, and the ol’ brain up there thinks it’s doing “a real fat burning workout”, but it’s never enough to melt me outta here.
Another thing, keep listening to those experts who say strength training doesn’t burn body fat. Since research shows they’re wrong, if you added strength training to your program, you’d practically need to throw me a going away party!
After each one of those superset workouts you tried last January it felt like someone lit a match under our collective butt. I was burning up down here!
But boy oh boy, I sure was glad you gave that up and went back to just lifting utensils and not dumbells. Otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to celebrate another summer together this year.
Sometimes I wonder, what did you ever do in college without me, your trusted belly fat? Back then, you were probably one of those people that couldn’t wait to get to the beach to show off your body, not like these days.
Nope, stay in the shade and keep the cover-up clothes on, that’s the way to go now. Besides, its a lot closer to the cold beer and the BBQ when you’re sitting in the shade avoiding all the fun down on the beach.
Well, it sure was good catching up with you. I’m sure we’ll be in touch more often, as long as you stay away from that Turbulence Training workout routine.
Brings a tear to my eye whenever I even think about that workout program and all the belly fat it’s burned. Heck, it’s fried more belly fat than a frying pan!
So again, if you want to keep your dear old belly around for another year and another summer, don’t use Turbulence Training – otherwise, its all over pal, and you’ll never see me again.

Your friend and spare tire,
Belly Fat
PS – Seriously, don’t go near that Turbulence Training program unless you want to see me, Thunder Thighs, Manboobs, Jigg Lee Arm Fat, and Luv Handles pack our bags and hit the highway.
It will be a sad farewell, and you’d be stuck with ripped abs, gorgeous glutes, and toned arms, and you know how much attention those guys get from the opposite sex. Who needs it, I say.

My Car vs My Body
My Car
I have just received a bill for my car – it spent a day at the mechanics, received new brakes and bushes and an oxygen generator and I received a bill for $1600. I was gobsmacked. My car was going to cost $1600 this time, then there will be new tyres $800, WOF $45, registration $400, insurance $600, so a basic annual bill of $2345. And on top of this will be petrol, oil, kids pay for cleaning the car etc etc etc.
My Body
On the other hand, I started noticing an increase pain in my right arm. To be fair, it wasn’t “just started noticing”, lets say, oh, four months of arm pain. Now being a health professional, you think I would have had it treated earlier. Yes, I did, I was treating myself, and doing the best that I could. But the pain still was not going away. So I bit the bullet and sort expert help. And in one treatment I felt a huge difference. And it only cost me $55. I will probably need two to three sessions, so for less than $200, my body will be back up and running.
- Why did I feel that I should not spend $55 on myself, much less than my $1600 for my car?!
- When did my car have more value than me?
- Why am I not my top investment?
Who spends more on a car to get them from point A to B, rather than spend more on their own vehicle, their body. Now I am not just talking money here, am I? Spend more … time, attention, care. Vehicles can be easily replaced, repaired, sold for pieces, upgraded, relatively easily. Yet your body can not be replaced, repaired, sold for pieces or upgraded relativley easily. Yes, you can do these things, but I am sorry to inform you, nothing is as good as the orginal. So why do we not take care of the original body? Or should I ask – How can I take greater care of my body?
How to take greater care of my body
If you are spending more on your car than your own personal vehicle, I suggest you initially have a look at your values, and what is really important to you, right here right now. Tomorrow never arrives. Where is your health in relation to your things?
Then take one small action step and just do it. Be it eating natural ingredients, reading a book, spending quite time with just you, going for a walk, participating in an exercise class – Pilates, Yoga or Body Blitz , or is just seeking that expert help that you need. Whatever that one small step is, is just perfect for you right now.
PS – one day I will have this car, and I have the body and health to enjoy it!
Have Fun
